Mission Statement
The mission of Anti-Apartheid Arizona is to critically examine the law SB1070 and the like being implemented in the criminal justice system of the state of Arizona and other states and how it affects those communities and others at large. As San Francisco State University students in the department of Ethnic Studies we advocate the notion that multicultural histories are a necessity to understanding the race relations within our communities, which extend from domestic to international lands. Anti-Apartheid Arizona seeks to form a network rooted in multicultural awareness and acceptance that extends to all lands that are being pervaded with dehumanizing regulations that deny basic civil liberties to any members deemed unlawful in any community. What is unlawful is the targeting of particular communities of color for exclusionary pleasure by government and the resistance against cross-cultural comparative analysis within school systems and communities at large in this country. And so, as a platform for educational resource, we seek to provide material and analyses related to current and historic race relations and welcome any alternative information as well.
